A piece with exceptional history

For sale is a set of a table and six chairs that, according to family history, belonged to Francisco Javier de Moya y Jiménez, one of the most prominent Spanish intellectuals and military figures in the Philippine archipelago at the end of the 19th century.

Description

The set is in the Spanish Neo-Renaissance style, carved from solid noble wood with notable cabinetmaking craftsmanship. Highlights include the elaborate carvings on the chair backs, the decorative brass shell-shaped studs, and the original leather seats. The set includes two armchairs and four armless chairs.

Condition

The set shows the wear and tear typical of its age. The attached photos show the actual condition of the pieces in detail, including some flaws to provide a complete and transparent view.
